Holy Week and Easter 2015 

Monday 30th March – Wednesday 1st April Holy Communion in St Michael’s Church Hall from 11am.

Maundy Thursday Symbolic Passover meal followed by the stripping of the altar at both churches from 7pm.

Good Friday Good Friday liturgy at St Michael’s from 10am

Hot Cross Bun Service at Holy Trinity from 10am

Prayers around the cross at Holy Trinity from 2pm

Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at St Michael’s from 5am followed by Hot Cross Buns.

Early Celebration at Mossock Hall from 7pm followed by hot drinks in the clubhouse.

There will be an Easter Bonnet Parade (for all ages) during the 10.30am celebration at Aughton and at the 10.45am celebration at Bickerstaffe. Following the services there will an egg hunt for the children.

Events

  • Holy Communion in the Community-The Holy Communion Services in Stockley Crescent, St Michael’s Hall and Bickerstaffe School are a wonderful opportunity for outreach. Please invite friends!! “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”  1 Corinthians 11:26
    The service of Holy Communion at Stockley Crescent will be on 3rd March at 1pm;  St Michael’s Hall, on Wednesday 11th March at 11am (with soup lunch), and 25th March.  Holy Communion at Bickerstaffe School will take place on Friday 27th March at 2.40pm. Everyone welcome.
  • Youth Group-The Youth Club has moved slots! We now meet on the Final Friday of the month at St Michael’s Hall 5pm – 6.30pm. Baked potatoes will be served! Subs £1.50. We will meet on 27th March and 24th April.
  • Pizza and Praise, Rainford-The young people of Aughton and Bickerstaffe have been invited to All Saints, Rainford for ‘Pizza and Praise’ on Sunday 8th March 5pm-6.30pm. There will be a sign up sheet at the back of church so that we can help Rev Janet to order the correct number of pizzas!
  • Mothering Sunday (15th March)-Please invite family and friends to the Mothering Sunday Services at Aughton and Bickerstaffe. At both services, flowers will be distributed to the ladies.
  • Men’s Breakfast-The next Men’s Breakfast will be at Bickerstaffe School at 9am on Saturday 21st March. New members welcome!
    Book Club Next meeting is scheduled for 18th March at the Derby Arms. We will be discussing the book from our last meeting which was ‘The Mission Song’. All welcome! Steve Hall. Wednesday morning Lent reflection-There will be Lent reflections at Bickerstaffe Church at 8am followed by breakfast at Bickerstaffe School. The reflections are intended for all ages and this year, our reflections will be based upon the Lord’s Prayer. Below are the dates and the themes:
    25th February Our Father 4th March Thy Will Be Done 11th March Our Daily Bread 18th March As We Forgive 25th March In Heaven.
