“Two weeks ago I discovered a bat in church tucked up asleep under the altar cloths. It’s been around since then going up to the balcony. Yesterday back by the altar. So today with Mum’s help we caught it in a bat containment box. Then I rang a local Bat volunteer who came from Billinge , it’s an unusual type of pipistrelle a male. In good health, information broken nail and he was very thirsty. He will be released back to Bickerstaffe in a few days. No flash was used to take photos.”
